Adam Schoof is a devoted husband, father, and committed public servant with a diverse background and a deep dedication to the people of Fort Bend County. As a U.S. Army veteran, Adam embarked on his service-oriented journey early, serving as a firefighter and Civil Air Patrol cadet while still in high school.
His educational path includes attending the prestigious Army & Navy Academy in Carlsbad, California, where he developed the discipline and leadership skills that guide him to this day. Graduating high school ahead of schedule, he was motivated by a strong desire to serve his community. Adam views leadership as the ability to influence and guide others toward a common goal, fostering loyal cooperation.
While in high school, Adam self-funded and earned his Private Pilot’s License, a passion he continues to pursue alongside multiple FAA certifications. He also completed a Fire Academy through a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program, further solidifying his foundation in community service.
After graduating early, Adam enlisted in the U.S. Army Military Police Corps and was stationed at Fort Drum, New York, home of the 10th Mountain Division. There, he gained invaluable law enforcement and investigative experience while supporting soldiers and their families. During his time at Fort Drum, he also volunteered as a firefighter, integrating himself into the local community.
Adam brought his commitment to public service back home to Texas. In 2014, he began serving the residents of Fort Bend County as a police officer while also volunteering with the Needville Fire Department. His passion for mentoring the next generation led him to expand the department’s Junior Firefighter Program, where he trained and guided high school students—not just in firefighting skills, but also in integrity, discipline, selfless service, and professionalism. Many of those he mentored now work as professional firefighters across Texas.
In 2018, Adam merged his dedication to community service with his love of aviation by becoming a volunteer pilot with Angel Flight South Central, a nonprofit that provides free air transportation for individuals needing medical or humanitarian travel. As a volunteer pilot, Adam uses his own aircraft and covers all costs to transport patients, many traveling to the Houston area for critical medical care.
Adam has also served on multiple HOA boards, proudly noting that he has never raised HOA dues. In 2024, he was elected to the Fort Bend Independent School District Board of Trustees. Since his election, the district’s overall rating has improved from a C to a B, all while reducing spending. A staunch believer in fiscal responsibility, Adam has consistently opposed tax increases while enhancing school safety and student outcomes. He is committed to being a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars with an impeccable voting record.
As a U.S. Army veteran, pilot, business owner, career law enforcement officer, and school board trustee, Adam brings real-world experience in leadership, emergency management, and budgeting. He is an active member of River Point Church, and his values are firmly rooted in his Christian faith.
Adam believes that strong communities are built on safe neighborhoods, reliable emergency services, well-maintained infrastructure, responsible spending, low taxes, and accountable government. He is devoted to bringing principled leadership, continuity, and a service-first mindset to the Fort Bend Commissioners Court.
Striving for excellence in all he does, Adam remains focused on prioritizing the best interests of the community. He is dedicated to serving the people of Fort Bend County and ensuring it remains a place future generations are proud to call home.
